knitwear has been woven into my story like no other material. it holds massive emotion and great feelings. to me, it feels like a textile hug, an expression of love.

this top is named after my grandma martha. she started knitting as a business besides raising my mother and her two siblings back in the days. my first piece is created as an honor to the journey she initially started.

the design is inspired by the vishudda chakra. it’s inherent nature of the chakra, located in the throat area, is to help with communication and support openness with the outside world. on an emotional and energetic level, it enhances an inner balance between the lower and the upper chakras and brings clarity, too.

designed with a delicate scarf moment it flatters the neck area merely by highlighting it rather than hiding it. the mohair and silk mix feels like a soft tickle on your skin just like a summer breeze in august. while knit is supposed to keep you warm this specific fabric balances the heat and has a cooling effect.
